Jaydon's Past 4+ Months

Well we've been a little behind in updating our blog and would like to share some of our fun experiences over the past few months. Jaydon is a pleasure and a joy to have around and our lives are continually enriched by him. Enjoy!

JAYDON RANDALL BARTLETTI

Please welcome the newest addition to the Bartletti family, born on March 17th, 2009 (St. Patricks Day) weighing in at 6 lbs, 10 oz, 18.5" tall, and he's got all his fingers and toes (my toes, not Stacey's!). Mommy, daddy and baby are all healthy and happy, albeit exhausted! We can't wait for you all to meet the little dude! We are very blessed to have him in our lives.

BABY TIME!!!

Quick update...just because my head hurts and I have t rest. I've been at the hospital since Friday at 1:00 pm under close watch (just a few complications...but things they've been able to manage). We tried to induce on Friday night/Saturday morning, but it just didn't seem to be right for me or my baby. We are trying again today in about 3 hours because we think it is best for me and the baby. The good news is that today marks 37 weeks, which means full term and our baby boy seems to be doing really good!! I won't post for a while, but wanted to keep you posted on the latest.

The last month....

I can hardly believe it!! Tomorrow I start my 34th week, which really is the final stretch of my pregnancy. I am a bundle of emotions. On one hand I am humbled and feel such reverence for this miracle that I get to enjoy. Having a life growing inside of me is the most amazing thing I have ever personally experienced. I marvel that he moves and responds to my every move...nourishment, exercise, sound, touch. I love having someone that is a part of me and understand so much more the motherly bond and actions of my mother, my grandmother, great grandmother, etc. It is truly something that is helping me to connect with the great women who gave me life. The strange thing is, I might even miss being pregnant. But I also have to be real....while I've had an excellent and healthy pregnancy, I am now uncomfortable, tired of the acne, feel like I'm one ginourmous sausage (especially days when my feet swell to capacity), can no longer move like I used to (my gait is often slow and watching me bend over or reach for things is comical) and sometimes struggle with food or breath (because there is absolutely no room in my chest cavity)!!!...and can we talk about my brain?! It is like I speak another language! Word recall and my ability to speak proper grammar is at an all time low. Jay used to say the way I speak was called "Buckish." It's my own personal dialect of the English Language, but now we have a new term and it is called Pruckish (A mix of pregnant brain with Buck). Even I have to laugh at myself. It is like "invasion of the body snatchers." Thank goodness I have such a patient and loving husband. Everyday I thank God that Jay is my partner, my lover and my friend. He has been simply amazing. And speaking of God, "my cup runneth over. " God has blessed me with so much. I feel like one of the luckiest women on the planet right now and am so excited for the journey ahead. Many thanks to all of my family and friends. The love and generosity that all of you have shown me makes all of the difference in the universe and I can't wait to share our little one with you...so let the count down begin. Let me know just when you predict He will come. The one who is closest can change the first dirty diaper!!!

Stacey and I have enjoyed experiencing the development of our baby boy and one of the most amazing aspects of baby making, is the BELLY! Yes, Stacey is embracing her new size and I am enjoying the little kicks. Can you guess the months in the images?

Steeler Nation!

All last week it snowed and snowed and snowed in Pittsburgh. As I went to retrieve my luggage, a friendly T-Rex held out a towel to welcome all guests to the Steeler Nation! What a festive time it was, and I bet this evening, the city is celebrating like no other. Maybe next year San Diego will be celebrating!?

Our New Yard

Stacey and I worked diligently on Super Bowl Sunday to make our entry way as inviting as possible. It was 75 degrees, sunny and a perfect Austin winter day. We hope our guests will feel the comfort of our home as they arrive...so come over! Love from sunny Austin

Obama's Inauguration!

Hello from DC!

I was out in DC for business and was able to join the 2 million other Obama supporters on the National Mall on January 20th! It was a very emotional, historical, and celebratory event. Being together with thousands of people who all feel that our great nation is finally progressing in the right direction was truly intoxicating. I was frozen from my head to my toes but my heart and soul were warm. Let's work together again to make America great!
